TOS VARNSDORF a. s. primarily specialises in machining parts made of grey cast iron, ductile cast iron and weldments up to 11,000 mm long with a maximum weight of 40 t. For this purpose, we use a relatively extensive machine park, in which the predominant machines are horizontal boring mills and machining centres of our own production, two Waldrich Coburg portal centres, supported by flat-surface grinding machines. 

Both conventional turning machines and turning-milling centres from Mori Seiki and Mazak are used for the production of rotating parts up to Ø 600 mm and 4,000 mm in length. 

We provide cylindrical grinding on grinding machines produced by TOS Čelákovice up to Ø 400 mm and 4,000 mm in length. 

In terms of offered services, we can also supply deep shaft drilling up to Ø 175 mm of the drilled hole in 4,000 mm lengths on a TIBO drilling machine. 

Laser hardening and welding of parts is carried out at a specialised robotic workplace.

The achieved production quality is verified by ZEISS three-coordinate measuring machines up to workpiece dimensions of 2,000 x 3,000 x 6,000 mm and, according to customer requirements, documented by inspection reports. 

We also provide metrology services in the inspection and measurement centre according to order specifications. 

The final surface treatment of the workpieces using Mankiewicz two-component structural varnishes is carried out in modern paint shops with a dryer. 

In order to achieve the required surface properties of the components and the quality of the contact surfaces, a workplace for chemical-heat treatment (hardening plant) is used, which allows for various types of heat treatment, for example: 

  • annealing to remove internal stress (large bogie-hearth furnace 3,000 x 2,200 x 8,000 mm)
  • cementing

  • blasting
  • blackening
