Vertical machining centres with travelling gantry for universal machining of steel and cast iron
The unified WVM 2900/3900 C series vertical machining centres are designed for universal machining of work-pieces made of steel and cast iron, especially in the general engineering sector. The design comprising a bottom travelling gantry (X), transverse travel headstock (Y) and vertically extending ram (Z) ensures high precision, stability and rigidity. The 53 kW power installation allows powerful and productive machining of even large workpieces.
The machines are typically used for machining a wide range of workpieces, especially frame structures. Also for complete part machining, including rotary surface machining. Thanks to the open workspace, the handling of parts is easy and flexible.
Flexible solution for demanding operations
The machines can be equipped with a wide range of automatically interchangeable milling heads, which expands their technological possibilities, including the application of carousel operations. Of course accessories such as automatic tool change, cooling and machine monitoring can be added.
The machine is operated from the platform installed on the side of the column. For higher operational safety and comfort, the workspace can be equipped with a cover that minimises chip flight and coolant spray.
