Fairs and exhibitions/NEWS

TOS VARNSDORF participated in the 51st Brno International Engineering Fair (MSV), where its exposition was located in the new “P” pavilion.

With no machines on display, a model of the WRD 150 DUO technological workstation two floor-type horizontal and boring machines was the company’s main exhibit this year.

The 2009 Brno Fair took place at the time of a recession, which is possible reaching its culmination with the first signs of Czech economic recovery ahead. Despite a noticeable decrease in visitors, especially on Monday and Friday, and a somewhat reduced number of exhibitors, growing expectations about the forthcoming end of the recession were evident.

The Czech official delegation led by Prime Minister Jan Fischer visited the company’s booth, on Monday, 14 September 2009. After learning about new items in the company’s manufacturing programme, the guests were impressed by the WRD 150 DUO technological workstation. In a meeting with Jan Rýdl, chairman of the board of directors, attention was drawn to the fact that, in addition to the usual support for industry, such as assistance in maintaining job opportunities and supporting exports, government support for applied research will be absolutely essential for Czech enterprises. Such support should include encouraging scientific institutions and institutes to implement closer collaboration with manufacturing companies. Further development shall only be possible on the basis of innovations and seeking for new technologies.
